The Great Gatsby gets a Christmas day release
Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's jazz age classic The Great Gatsby is set to arrive on our screens on Christmas day, 2012
Who goes to the cinema on Christmas day? Non-Christmas-celebrating folk might well, but even then the buses will be a nightmare and you won’t be able to pop into Tescos and get a grab-bag of Revels before the film. We certainly won’t be there. Instead, we’ll be enjoying the traditional Christmas celebrations of stuffing ourselves with selection boxes, singing along to Wham, and getting into fist fights over the wording of Trivial Pursuit questions.
Still, if that’s not for you, then why not pop along to see Luhrmann’s 3D version of American jazz age classic The Great Gatsby starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan? Yup, you heard right, it’s in 3D. Why? We really don't know.
