Scott Fitzgerald's jazz age classic The Great Gatsby is set to arrive on our screens on Christmas day, 2012 Up against Tarantino’s Django Unchained and the first of The Hobbit movies in December 2012, Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby has been pegged for a December 25 th release date (though whether that’s here in the UK as well as in the US is yet to be confirmed). Who goes to the cinema on Christmas day? Non-Christmas-celebrating folk might well, but even then the buses will be a nightmare and you won’t be able to pop into Tescos and get a grab-bag of Revels before the film.
