First trailer for The Lucky One, starring Zac Efron

stars as ex-marine Logan Thibault in The Lucky One, returning from Iraq to find the woman he think saved his life, from the writer of The Notebook

Adapted from Nicholas Sparks’ novel (he of fame), The Lucky One tells the story of gloriously named marine Logan Thibault, whose life is saved when he finds a photo of an anonymous woman whilst on service in Iraq. Believing in stars and fate and all that kind of shenanigans, Logan tracks the woman down, and by the looks of this trailer, begins stalking her, but
you know, in a romantic way.

Blythe Danner and Taylor Schilling star alongside Efron, who’s following in the footsteps of Ryan Gosling in playing a Sparks-written romantic hero, which seems like a smart move. Now he just has to play a couple of psychopaths and he’ll have achieved Gosling’s trick of shedding the Disney heritage.

The only downside for Efron fans is that he’s had the military crop for the film, which means no extraordinarily well-conditioned Efron mop. Fear not, though, Zac Efron’s hair can be seen alongside that of the rest of Hollywood, offending the senses in the truly dreadful New Year’s Eve.
