Before he was famous: Leonardo DiCaprio as a fresh-faced teen in bubble gum advert
Today he's one of Hollywood's A-list, mixing in the most exclusive acting circles.
But there was a time when Leonardo Dicaprio was a fresh-faced teenager dreaming of fame.
Back in 1988 the Inception star appeared in a commercial for Bubble Yum bubble gum when he was just 14-years-old.
Leo, then sporting a thick mop of blonde hair, wears a tie and checked shirt as he blows pink bubbles into the camera.
Now 36, he is one of the biggest stars around, topping Forbes annual list of the highest grossing actors of 2010.
Last year his movies, including Inception and Shutter Island, took a combined $1.1billion around the world.
He is now working on new movie J Edgar, in which he plays the famed first FBI director J Edgar Hoover, who was responsible for building the agency into a large and highly efficient crime fighting organisation.
The movie focuses largely on his scandalous career and controversial private life as a homosexual and rumoured cross dresser.
Naomi Watts will portray Hoover's secretary Helen Gandy, Judi Dench will star as his mother and The Social Network's Armie Hammer will play his protege Clyde Tolson in the film, penned by Dustin Lance Black.
