Casting round-up: The Great Gatsby and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Yes, he might have been in The OC and Lost and Torchwood and even that very silly Indiana Jones sequel, but he’ll always be Jim from Neighbours to us. Alan Dale has been announced as a last minute addition to the cast of David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Dale plays a police detective who’s drawing near retirement in the US adaptation of Steig Larsson’s novel, due out this Christmas.
In more Aussie news, Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, about to begin filming in New South Wales, in, umm, 3D (anyone else think Luhrmann knocked back a bit too much Absinthe during the making of Moulin Rouge?) has announced two new cast members.
Former model Gemma Ward and Callan McAuliffe are to join Leonardo Dicaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher and Joel Edgerton in the new adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel.
With a sexy young cast like that, GCSE English Lit revision is going to get a lot sweeter come next summer.
