Charlie Sheen Reacts to SNL Spoof

It's hard for me to not like Charlie Sheen. He's so over the top, so crazy, that it's hard for me to not think he's just screwing with us, Joaquin Phoenix style. And even if he isn't, which is equally (if not much more) possible, he certainly seems to realize just how over-the-top he is. At this point, we're
not seeing self-destruction; we're seeing flat out crazy.

So after today's news that Sheen was fired from his starring role in the immensely popular sitcom Two and a Half Men, it's great to see that at least he's happy about something. In this case, it's about Bill Hader's absolutely hilarious caricature of him in this weekend's Saturday Night Live.

In the cold open of the Miley Cyrus/Strokes episode, Hader portrayed Sheen on the set of his new talk show, Duh! Winning! as he interviewed recent newsmongers such as Moaamar Gadhafi (Fred Armisen) and John Galliano (Taran Killam). The sketch was, in my opinion, side-splittingly funny at points, though by the time Sheen offered Lindsay Lohan (Cyrus) a vial of baby urine, it was growing a little... mellow.

Sheen, however, really loved it. Hader apparently got the opportunity to gauge Sheen's reaction. "He liked it," Hader shared with MTV. "Charlie reacted to it and really liked it and I never met him before, so that's good."

"Colin Jost and Seth Myers and John Mulaney wrote that sketch, and ... it was smart in the way that I never felt like it was hard to get the voice down, but his attitude that he's owning this and that you should own it to all these other people was really smart," he added. "It was an interesting ... smart take on it. It all happened so fast."
