First Look at David Walliams in Great Expectations

The drip feed of images from Mike Newell's Great Expectations has now revealed David Walliams' Mr Pumblechook, and he has a great barnet...
We’ve already been granted a couple of glimpses of Helena Bonham Carter's Miss Havisham and Jeremy Irvine’s Pip over the last few weeks, but here is your first look at David Walliams in the role of Mr Pumblechook in the upcoming Great Expectations adap.
Like the others, it’s a single posed shot rather than a still from the film itself, but it gives us a decent look at the character nonetheless. In the book, Mr Pumblechook is uncle to Pip’s brother-in-law and guardian Joe Gargery.
The character is important to the story in that he connects Pip with Miss Havisham, but is also an antagonistic figure that the young protagonist dislikes considerably.
Great Expectations is directed by Mike Newell and features Irvine, Bonham-Carter, Walliams, Robbie Coltrane, Holliday Grainger, Sally Hawkins, Ewen Bremmer and Ralph Fiennes.
