New images from J. Edgar, Hugo, Contagion, The Descendants, Jack and Jill, and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

J. Edgar ()
Doesn't give much away, does it? The film will tell the life story of  Hoover, the man who's credited with making the FBI what it is today.  It will be released this November in the USA.

Because it's Friday, we bring you all the new images floating around online...
It's nearly the weekend, and new looks at exciting films haven't exactly been thin on the ground. This is due mainly to Entertainment Weekly's sneak peak issue, but here are some fresh peaks at the most anticipated upcoming releases.

Hugo (Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz)
This image is of the two child stars of Martin Scorsese's foray into children's literature. It's likely to fill the Harry-shaped hole in cinemas, even if it's an unconventional pairing for the director. It will be released on 2nd Dember in the UK.

The Descendants (George Clooney, Shailene Woodley)
These pictures of George Clooney in The Descendants again reveal very little, but we do know that the film pitches him as a father charged with the care of his daughters after their mother suffers a boating accident. It sounds like a Miley Cyrus movie from that description, which is never a good thing. UK release on 20th January 2012.

Contagion (Laurence Fishburne, Kate Winslet)
With a cast this large, they've had to stagger them a bit, so after we got images of Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law and Matt Damon this week, it's the turn of Laurence Fishburne and Kate Winslet. The film is a disease thriller from Steven Soderbergh, and the characters must deal with weaponised bird flu. Yes really.

Jack and Jill (Adam Sandler, Adam Sandler)
No. Just no. Inflicted on us 17th February 2012.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Rooney Mara)
They've been pulling out all the stops with this one, what with the controversial teaser trailer and character profiles released this week. It's an intelligent approach, seeing as the film's built-in audience consists of people who've seen and loved the original Swedish trilogy. The cast are stellar, the trailer was good, and it has David Fincher directing, so signs are positive. We get to see it on the 16th December.
