The movie, an adaptation of the John D. MacDonald mystery novel series, casts DiCaprio as Travis McGee, a “salvage consultant” who recovers property for clients, taking a hefty percentage and getting into a lot of danger and romance. First published in 1964, “The Deep Blue Goodbye” is the first in the 21-volume bestselling Travis McGee series.
DiCaprio’s upcoming movies include Shutter Island directed by Martin Scorsese and Inception directed by Christopher Nolan.
