DiCaprio To Star In Mel Gibson’s Next Movie

Leonardo DiCaprio
Last week we reported that Mel Gibson was getting ready to step behind the camera again after more than a four-year hiatus. It was being reported that he would be using the Ignacio Allende prison in the Mexican state of Veracruz as one shooting location.
Today, Variety.com has some more details on that project. The website is reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio will star in the untitled movie and it will be about Vikings. William Monahan, whose previous screenplays include Body of Lies, The Departed and Kingdom of Heaven, will write the script.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2010.
As I said before, like him or not, Gibson is a genius behind the camera. If you don’t belive me, just watch Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto. All Gibson movies and all brilliant.
With a Viking movie on the way, it seems Mel has an affinity towards the period pieces.
DiCaprio will be the biggest star that Gibson has ever had in one of his movies (besides himself) so it should be very interesting to see how it turns out. We’ll be sure to update you on anymore news about this movie.
