Shutter Island Blu-rayParamount Home Entertainment will release Shutter Island on Blu-ray and DVD on June 8, 2010. The movie, directed by Martin Scorsese, stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo as U.S. Marshals who are sent to the mysterious Shutter Island to investigate the disappearance of an inmate from a hospital for the criminally insane. Ben Kingsley, Max von Sydow, Michelle Williams and Emily Mortimer also star. Special features will include: * Behind the Shutters – Follows the film from its inception as an acclaimed novel through the production process and to the big screen. Includes interviews with cast and crew. * Into the Lighthouse – Discusses the historical landscape of psychiatric therapies during the 1950s through interviews with cast and crew. Shutter Island was released in theaters February 19th opening with $41 million. The movie has earned nearly $250 at the international box office to-date.

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a specialist in the new branch of corporate espionage — he’s a dream thief who plucks secrets from the minds of tycoons after pumping them full of drugs and hooking them up to a mysterious contraption.

And what about this “contraption”:

The only outlandish idea that the film presents, really, is the existence of a technology that allows you to enter and share the same dream as someone else.
