The dress code for Tuesday's GQ Men Of The Year Awards said smart, but it appears Russell Brand didn't get the memo.
The British comedian brought his own unique sense of style to Los Angeles for the annual glitzy bash, which was attended a host of A-list stars dressed in their finery.
While skinny black jeans, waistcoat, white t-shirt and black jacket may be Russell's version of smart, the other male celebrities in attendance at the Chateau Marmont bash were suited and booted.

Brand has been in the U.S. since he resigned from the BBC after the scandal over Andrew Sachs.
The comedian and Jonathan Ross caused a furore when they made obscene phonecalls to former Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs, 78, about his grand-daughter Georgina Baillie, who had had a brief relationship with Brand.

The phonecalls were then broadcast on Brand's Radio 2 show, prompting a wave of complaints from the public.
Brand has been touring America doing stand-up shows since the scandal broke, and is due to start work on a Hollywood adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest alongside Dame Judi Dench in Hawaii.

Erin Brockovich star Aaron Eckhart, 40, looked suitably dappers in a black suit aswell.

Still together: Fox and fiance Brian Austin Green silenced rumours of a split as they posed together on the red carpet
Bringing some much needed glamour to the predominantly male event was Transformers actress Megan Fox, who wowed the paparazzi in a figure-hugging pink dress.
Fox, 22, who was the only female winner at the awards, showed off her curves and long legs in a strapless pink dress.
She was joined by fiancé Brian Austin Green - who played David Silver in the original Beverly Hills, 90210, silencing recent rumours that they had split.
Fox was named GQ's 'Obsession of the Year' for her popularity amongst male readers of the magazine.
Model-turned-actresses: Jaime King went for the two-tone look in grey, while Amber Valletta took a style risk with a Stella McCartney sequinned jumpsuit and cream smoking jack
Pregnant British singer M.I.A. also opted for a hot pink, bringing extra attention to her heavily rounded stomach.
M.I.A., real name Mathangi Arulpragasam, and New York band MGMT shared the 'Radio Gods' trophy for their latest music releases.
MGMT supported M.I.A. during her U.S. tour this year.
Other Hollywood beauties bringing a touch of femininity to the awards included Sin City actress Jaime King in a grey two-tone dress and former supermodel Amber Valletta experimented in a Stella McCartney sequinned jumpsuit.
Teen idols: The O.C. star Adam Brody (L) and High School Musical Zac Efron (R)
High School Musical heart-throb Zac Efron, 21, was one of the youngest guests of the night and admitted he was hoping to take after some of his older Hollywood contemporaries.
He said: 'I'm trying to take after Leo.'
Among the winners of the GQ Men Of The Year awards included U.S. President-elect Barack Obama as 'Game Changer', Man Men star Jon Hamm as the 'Breakout of the Year' and Sean Penn as 'Drama Queen'.
One of the most unflattering gongs of the evening was 'Pr*ck of the Year' for Gordon Ramsay, who, unsurprisingly, didn't turn up to accept his honour.
Brit pack: London-born singer M.I.A. showed off her baby bump, while Snatch actor Jason Statham was dwarfed by his date Natalya Rudakova
English actor Jason Statham was named 'Action Man' of the year for his tough guy role in Death Race and The Bank Job.
He was accompanied by Natalya Rudakova, his co-star in the upcoming sequel Transporter 3.
Also honoured were U.S. Olympian Michael Phelps as 'Golden Boy', James Franco as 'Screen Idol' and John Malkovich as 'Mad Genius'.
