FIRST LOOK: Leo, Tobey and Isla get to work on The Great Gatsby in Sydney
It is one of the most highly-anticipated films in production... and fans of the original Great Gatsby will have to wait until November 2012 to see how it compares.
But they will be able to monitor the progress of the remake, as pictures of stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Tobey Maguire and Isla Fisher on set have already emerged just two days into filming.
The actors were spotted in Sydney, Australia where they are hard at work on the Baz Luhrmann-directed project.

It appeared to be a rehearsal run, as both actors were in casual jeans and T-shirts for the short drive around the lot, and accompanied by crew.
DiCaprio will take on the role of Jay Gatsby in the big-budget remake, which is being shot in 3D, while Maguire will play Nick Carraway.

friends in real life, are taking on the roles of Nick Carraway and Jay

Director Baz Luhrmann was pictured walking around accompanied by three crew members clutching clipboards and lap tops while they hung on his every word.
The adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel will see Luhrmann and DiCaprio reunite for the first time since DiCaprio was launched to super stardom as a result of his role in the director's stylish take on Romeo and Juliet in 1996.

Luhrman said of Mulligan's casting earlier this year: ‘Regarding the role of Daisy Buchanan, I was privileged to explore the character with some of the world’s most talented actresses, each one bringing their own particular interpretation, all of which were legitimate and exciting.’
‘However, specific to this particular production of The Great Gatsby, I was thrilled to pick up the phone an hour ago to the young Oscar-nominated British actress Carey Mulligan and say to her, “Hello, Daisy Buchanan”.’
